Résilience – Alliance Altruiste
Cultivating one’s altruistic potential through an emotional intelligence program, based on mindfulness and dialogue circles.
Designed on the basis of action, commitment, and altruism, Karuna-Shechen is launching its new program, Resilience – Altruistic Alliance.
Targeted to non-profit organizations, this program allows individuals to cultivate their altruistic potential in order to find a balance between taking care of oneself and taking care of others. It strengthens the resilience of organizations and their members through daily actions.
55% of healthcare professionals report experiencing one or more episodes of burnout regardless of their self-care coping practices.
Resilience and altruism in action
Cultivating one’s altruistic potential
Practical tools and strategies to develop an individual’s capacity to act with integrity and find balance between self-care and caring for others.
Strengthening organizational resilience
Our belief is that the resilience of organizations will come from the altruistic actions of their members. Participants are invited to participate within their organization.
A pedagogical innovation
Supported by Le Fonds Nouveau Monde, this program is based on behavioral and contemplative sciences, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) methods, dialogue circle practices, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
- Being altruistic is being present for others, and for that, one must already be present with oneself and one’s body. The tool of the session is Presence.
- Being altruistic is above all being kind to oneself. The tool is Self-compassion.
- Being altruistic is being honest with oneself and authentic with others. The tool is Courage.
- Being altruistic is cultivating compassion and acting for all beings. The tool is Open-heartedness.
- Being altruistic is engaging with creativity and joy. The tool is Empowerment.
- Being altruistic is to be inspired, to train oneself, and to commit. The tool is the “Altruistic Anonymous” Circle of Speech.
The program is structured into six weekly sessions, each lasting two hours. Sessions take the form of dialogue circles, creating a sincere and caring space where participants can reconnect with their bodies, welcome their emotions, communicate authentically, and engage appropriately.
Today, we prioritize caregivers and helpers, but we also offer this program to all types of non-profit organizations: public services, businesses, associations, networks of unions, and elected representatives. Learn more about our intervention method.
Our intervention method
Our method is based on identifying the Smallest Possible Steps that each individual can take during and after the sessions and encouraging them to apply these steps in their daily life. We encourage a broad and organic deployment of these tools within organizations with active participant contribution and internal instructor training.
