In Ruby Valley, Nepal, Nabina Tamang devotes her daily life to animals and farmers. As a veterinary technician with Karuna-Shechen, she treats injured or sick animals, enabling farmers to continue to make a living from their work and restoring hope to rural families whose livelihoods depend in part on animal health.
By breaking gender stereotypes, Nabina inspires young girls in her community: they discover that they too can study, work and care for the life around them. Following in her footsteps, many now dare to dream of a different future.
