20 years of altruism in action. 270,000 people helped each year. Ten of thousands of supporters. Karuna is a family of people united and committed for 20 years to build a more altruistic world...
Yoga for Karuna is a collaborative effort, born from the goodwill of a few yoga enthusiasts and expanded to spread a message of kindness and solidarity to build a better world!
Ulrika Dezé is a yoga instructor in France who wanted to make a meaningful difference in the Himalayan region after taking several trips to India and Nepal. Recognizing that Karuna-Shechen shares the values of yoga, she decided to support our efforts by organizing yoga events and donating all proceeds to our projects.
In 2017, a new initiative was born when Frédérique Buisson organized a two-day yoga festival in France. The event was a tremendous success, and was held again in early 2018. In addition, we regularly receive donations from yoga teachers and yoga centers.
Inspired by so much altruism and generosity, we decided to create the Yoga For Karuna event: A collective and united movement to support our projects in India, taking place for three days, October 19 to 21, 2018.
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years, and to the wonderful yoga enthusiasts around the globe who are stepping forward to inspire and join in by demonstrating Karuna-Shechen’s ideal of altruism in action!
