Foreword by our founder, Matthieu Ricard:
” The year 2013 was one of many challenges and successes. Our activities throughout the Himalayan region and the north of India have continued to blossom and a host of new and exciting projects were accomplished.
There is a Buddhist saying, “What is not done for others is note worth doing.” At Karuna-Shechen we share a common goal: to attend to the needs of others, alleviate their suffering, and try to bring them on the path to well-being. Our work is based on altruism and the wish to bring about a more caring society.
On behalf of the beneficiaries of Karuna-Shechen and from all of us who endeavor to carry out Karuna-Shechen’s activities, I wish to express our deepest gratitude to those who have so generously made our work possible through their contributions and donations.”
