On April 25, 2015, a massive earthquake hit Nepal, devastating thousands of villages and killing more than 8,000 people. Now, two years later in the mountain villages that were almost “completely washed away” by the quake, the villagers still struggle — and life-saving help is needed.
Since the disaster, Karuna-Shechen has been helping the inhabitants of 57 remote villages recover. We are working with donors, partners, and beneficiaries to repair the damage and rebuild hope in these neglected places.
Thanks to your donations, we have rebuilt schools, installed solar home lighting systems, planted organic vegetable gardens, and trained villagers to save lives.
Much remains to be done, but our motivated team — nourished by your support and the optimism of those who lost everything — is up to the challenge.
What we have accomplished with your support:
“Real compassion and altruism know no bounds.”
