Wonderful news from Dolpo: The primary boarding school we built in the village of Sheri is open and classes have started. Dolpo is located in a remote mountainous region of Nepal.
The majority of these children had no access to education before our intervention. Villages like Sheri are often left out of most development programs because of their remoteness and difficulty to access.
The boarding school can accommodate up to 100 students from Sheri and neighboring villages. Tuition fees for the first two years will be entirely covered by Karuna -Shechen.
The villagers have enthusiastically supported the school from the beginning and even did the construction work. It is more than a school for them – it represents the chance for a better future for their children and their region.
