Construction Begins in Remote Dolpo

Construction is in full swing to build a primary boarding school for 100 children from isolated rural villages in the mountainous district of Dolpo.

The Jana Jagriti Primary School is in the village of Sheri and construction is expected to be completed before winter. The school will have seventeen rooms: six classrooms, a kitchen, office, dining rooms, bedrooms, and washrooms.

This is the first school in this particular Himalayan area, and will allow the children to stay within their community and maintain their unique cultural heritage while receiving a quality education.

Please see photos of the construction site taken in early July.
