Empowering Women

Women’s empowerment is at the heart of our development strategy. We believe women can play a leading role in reducing poverty and inequality, and in creating a more just and altruistic world.

Karuna-Shechen gives female villagers the means to reach their full potential and to become active agents of change in their community. We provide access to life-long education, training, and entrepreneurial opportunities. With our support, women develop and implement innovative, sustainable solutions that improve living conditions in their village. By working in sectors traditionally reserved for men, many of our trainees contribute to overcoming taboos and become models for younger generations.

The women we work with are very passionate about our work. They deeply understand the value of our projects and the impact it makes on them, their families, and their communities.
